Abstract: La barriera che separava l'impero di Athelmet da quello dei famigerati guerrieri del ghiaccio è stata aperta ed ora è una prigione per il giovane principe e per la cugina Ehnys. I due ragazzi, infatti, sono stati scaraventati nel regno dei loro nemici, impossibilitati a tornare indietro. Anche Marcus ha attraversato il confine ed è pronto a dar loro la caccia e ad ucciderli una volta per tutte. Lui è il principe dei Ghiacciati, erede al trono dell'impero e minaccia per lo stesso Thel.
