Abstract: Kubrick machte aus Anthony Burgess` berühmten Roman ein brutales uns satirisches Moralstück, in dessen Mittelpunkt Alex (Malcolm McDowell) steht, der kämpft, raubt, schändet und mordet wie ein gewissenloses Raubtier. Man verhaftet Alex und sperrt ihn ein. Er wird einem grausamen Verfahren unterzogen, das ihn wieder "gesellschaftsfähig" machen soll; funktionierend wie ein "Uhrwerk Orange", äußerlich gesund und intakt, im Inneren jedoch verkrüppelt und begrenzt auf Reflexe, die er selbst nicht mehr kontrollieren kann. Was aber kann die Gesellschaft noch für Alex tun - oder ihm antun - nachdem seine "Kur" ihn verteidigungsunfähig der Rache seiner Opfer überläßt? .. [bol.de]
