Abstract: Season one began airing Sunday, March 27. The season was planned to include 14 episodes, but the network shortened the season to nine episodes, and transferred the rest of the episodes to the second season. The season finally concluded on May 22, 2005. The season focuses chiefly on the first few weeks of the interns' internship, Meredith and Derek's new found relationship, Meredith's mother's Alzheimer's disease and other subplots. The season begins with Meredith's enrolling as intern in Seattle Grace Hospital, and ends with the mysterious arrival of Derek's estranged wife Addison Montgomery.. (en.wikipedia.org)
